Sapporo Yosakoi Soran Festival 2023

Experience the vibrant Yosakoi Soran Festival in Sapporo! Yosakoi is an annual dance festival in which different teams from all over Japan will compete to perform a fusion of traditional Japanese dance/ costume with modern style unique to each team. Sapporo is also a host city, where many different teams will parade and perform all over the town! I was lucky enough that the parade passed really close to my apartment!

Shin-Kotoni area

It was early Saturday morning when my wife asked me if I want to check Yosakoi parade. I thought it would be in Oodori park which would be crowded, but my wife said, let’s go to Shin-Kotoni area, which will be only 5 minutes bike ride. The weather was good so I quickly took a break from my coding project to check it.
